Shoutcast Radio Description

Shoutcast Radio is actually a small sidebar gadget that allows users to listen to Shoutcast streams, no matter how inexperienced they might be. The Shoutcast Radio interface closely resembles the gadgets that come with the Windows operating system, but you should also know that you can change the theme, as it offers a few options pertaining to this (red, green, blue, purple and orange, aside from the default one – Orbmu2k). If you right click the application, the context menu is going to present you with some more options, such as changing the opacity levels or enabling you to make the gadget always stay on top of all other windows you may have opened. These features are built in the Windows gadgets and therefore, you might already be familiar with them. The small utility permits users to listen only to SHOUTcast streams, by simply specifying the location of the PLS or M3U playlist. SHOUTcast is a type of software that allows digital audio content to be broadcast to and from media players, and thus enabling the creation of Internet radio stations. Furthermore, you have the ability to add the name of the station that you are listening to and it is going to appear in the gadget. All in all, Shoutcast Radio is a small but very useful gadget that allows any person, no matter how new they might be to the world of computers, to easily listen to their favorite radio station.
