QuickMathFacts Math Facts Teacher Description

QuickMathFacts Math Facts Teacher is a simple program which helps teaching your child addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts. These scores can then be plotted which encourages the child to compete with themselves over time to improve their score and thus commit these math facts to memory. QuickMathFacts is designed on the principle that children can memorize relationships between numbers by working with these relationships in the form of whole arithmetic problems. As they use QuickMathFacts on a regular basis, their recall of math facts improves steadily and replaces the need to compute the relationship mentally each time they see a problem. The program is appropriate for children aged 6 through 12, but can also be used for remedial help in older children who did not develop these essential skills earlier. This gimmick-free, non-video-game approach limits the distractions presented by other math software products, which are not helpful for longer term retention of math facts. Children enjoy doing "real" work on the computer and do not need to have everything presented to them by cartoon characters to "make learning fun". QuickMathFacts does not insult your child's intelligence in this way. Instead, the steady progress your child will achieve with regular practice builds confidence and helps him or her keep up with math at school without falling behind or feeling "stupid". Children who do not know their math facts quickly fall behind when they are taught long division, simplifying fractions, factoring, and pre-algebra, and are unable to determine whether an answer achieved by using a calculator "looks right" or not. Most web-based math fact practice games present problems one by one and there are internet server delays before the answer is checked, so any "timed test" is not an accurate picture of the child's speed of recall. QuickMathFacts, on the other hand, runs on your own computer and there are no delays. It can therefore be used to run accurately timed tests on specific sets of facts (e.g. multiplication tables), which allows the child's ACTUAL PROGRESS to be charted and real improvements over time seen clearly to build confidence. Limitations: ■ 30 days trial
