It has web interface with the same appearance and functionality on the local and remote pcs. Users see MPEG-4 coded picture and have full control of the software through network that security computer can be operated without monitor, keyboard, and mouse attached. Software's modular configuration considerably boosts reliability because all modules act as independent programs. If one component fails, other parts go on running. For example if the 'record' component stops working, 'watchdog' starts over it right away that users don't notice anything because they are watching video via a 'playback' module. The software does 'repeated' recording that the 'disk full' situation never happens. The recording can be non-stop or it can be turned on by motion, human face detection, or by timetable. The software has pre-alarm and post-alarm recording. Playing back recorded video is pretty easy and performs on the surveillance pc as well as on distant computer through Web interface. The software makes simultaneous video playback for event examination from many webcams at the same time. Also recorded data can be searched by date, time or by face detected. All recorded data can be encrypted and password protected.
