Mail Notifier Description

Mail Notifier is a lightweight but very effective utility developed to notify you whenever a new mail lands in your inbox. In essence a mail notifier, the application comes with support for the most popular email services on the web, including Gmail, Yahoo Mail and Hotmail. What's more, it allows its users to set up IMAP and POP3 accounts, all of which can be configured with the help of a very helpful wizard. Obviously, depending on the account type you wish to set up, you may need to know more than just the username and password, but in most cases Mail Notifier is a very easy to use tool. The clean and well thought out GUI shows the available accounts, but also lets you jump into options and configure the displayed parameters. Mail Notifier is capable of issuing both audio and visual notifications, so you can pick any sound file on your computer to be used as alarm for new messages. Of course, you are allowed to select the email checking interval, but also configure proxy servers, if needed, and protect the app with a password. Mail Notifier places an icon in the Windows System Tray, but although it's supposed to run all the time, it doesn't affect system performance in any way. Furthermore, it works flawlessly on all Windows versions and doesn't even ask for administrator privileges on Windows 7 workstations. Overall, Mail Notifier is clearly one of the simplest yet more effective email notifiers on the market.
