Hebrew Reader Description

The focus of Hebrew Reader is on actual Biblical Texts; the Book of Jonah and a selection from Genesis, the Creation Narratives, are included with the program and additional readings will be available in the near future. The user is presented with a window containing the reading where he may read until he encounters a word or usage he does not understand. At that point, if the user clicks on the word, a number of fields at the bottom half of the window will become filled with useful grammatical information and translations. The user may hide any of these fields, if he only wishes to see certain information. Audio is available for every reading. It can be played an entire chapter at a time, for individual verses, or, new in version 1.1, for individual segments. Presented in a Sephardic pronunciation, this allows the user to determine pronunciation for any word without having to decipher the rather complicated pronunciation guides one might encounter in a Lexicon.
