Cute Video Converter Free is an application designed to help you encode video files to a few formats, including AVI, MPG and FLV. It can be easily used by individuals of all levels. The interface of the program is plain and simple to navigate through. Video clips can be imported into the list by using the file browser only, because the "drag and drop" method is not supported. Batch processing is allowed. In the queue you can read the source path, total and trimmed length, along with destination file and progress of each video. Once you specify the output profile and directory, you can start conversion. Furthermore, you can configure audio and video options when it comes to the resolution, encoder, zoom, bit rate, frame rate, sample frequency rate, volume and channel mode. Settings can be restored to default. Additionally, you can preview clips and take snapshots, crop videos, add watermarks (text or image), make image adjustments (e.g. contrast, saturation), set the work priority, change the interface skin, and others. During conversion, you can check out the current time, file size, length, progress, source path and progress bar, as well as enable Cute Video Converter Free to automatically turn off the computer or to open the output directory when it finishes. The video conversion software requires a moderate amount of system resources, has a good response time, comes with a comprehensive help file and video tutorials, quickly finishes a task and keeps a fair image and sound quality in the output videos. However, it didn't manage to convert the video stream in several cases during our tests (ASF, FLV, MPG and WMV to AVI). We recommend Cute Video Converter Free with some reservations.
