workSafe monitors the computer usage of the individual employee and suggests calculated work breaks and pauses based on usage, as well as providing exercises to aid recovery and reduce discomfort. Monitor Usage & Employee Strain workSafe records overall usage in terms of strain, keystrokes, mouse movements and elapsed time working at the keyboard. This is one of the inputs in assessing the overall risk of an individual employee. These calculations are performed when the computer is idle. Optimise Breaks Breaks are optimised at an individual level based on the employee's typing efficiency, history of discomfort and the time period taken to recover from fatigue and discomfort. The optimisation algorithm takes these inputs and analyses actual PC usage to calculate the optimised break schedule. On triggering a break, physiological exercises are displayed to aid in recovery from discomfort. These can be focused to the specific areas where discomfort is being experienced. Priority Alerts If an employee's discomfort threshold exceeds a pre-defined level, the Occupational Health department are sent a priority workflow message to inform them to assess and create corrective action, thus assisting easy detection of RSI related illnesses. Audit Log workSafe will record all of the suggestedbreaks and also records changes to all of the employee settings, such as the level of discomfort experienced by the employee. This gives the employer an auditable record showing whether or not the employee has complied with the instructed breaks.
