Pros: monikker lets you choose or create `Phonefaces` - multimedia ringtones comprising sound, image, animation or text - which announce phone calls you make or receive. Your call appears on the called party’s phone as the phoneface you have chosen to create. Same is true when a friend calls using the monikker system and appears on your phone as whatever he has chosen to be with his phoneface. All that is needed is to download the phone software. Like ringtones you have options to have just one phoneface for all calls or distinctive ones for various groups of your friends/ family/ colleagues. monikker phone program versions are available for Windows Mobile 5/6 phones and Nokia / Symbian phones. If the caller does not have the monikker phone face it is possible to assign phonefaces to these callers and have them appear on your phone when they call. One could use the monikker website services and download monikers you want to assign to such callers. monikker Phonefaces are all server-side, so there is no need to download new ringtones or image files to your phone every time you feel like changing ringtones - the monikker website lets you do that in seconds. It is possible to download the phone faces in a PC through a browser and then sync your phone or directly to the phone through the monikker mobile portal. So updating these multimedia ringtones is no problem at all. The monikker system has many technical features to minimize the amount of data The phonefaces are always reduced to a size of 50 KB or less so that it is not a burden on the phone. Users could choose to upload their designs too into the monikker portal but then too they’ll be reduced to 50 KB sizes. Cons: The whole system is in beta testing hence the usual caution is necessary in regards to beta systems. There are likely to be problems.
