iRingtunes is an easy to use Windows program developed to help users create iPhone ringtones. As every iPhone owner out there probably knows, creating ringtones for this highly-popular Apple device is pretty difficult due to all those restrictions, so an app like iRingtunes could really come in handy. There’s not much you can do after launching the software because it all comes down to just a few clicks, all in the main window. iRingtunes shows the artist, album and title for each selected item, while allowing users to define the start position in song and the length of the ringtone in seconds. There’s a dedicated option to preview the created ringtone and another one to save it to iTunes, which is quite helpful in case you wish to quickly transfer the file to your device. The GUI is plain and simple and shouldn’t get you too much trouble, but keep in mind that only unprotected songs stored on the local drives are supported by this app. Protected files purchased from iTunes cannot be used. The whole process takes just a few seconds and this can be only good news, but there still are some areas to be improved. A revised interface with a more appealing design, as well as customization options for the output file could really come in handy. But overall, iRingtunes does its job and requires just basic computer knowledge. Obviously, iTunes is needed too in order to sync your device with locally-stored ringtones.
