freeON Description

FreeON prevents disconnections from AOL, CompuServe, AT&T WorldNet, EarthLink, MindSpring, Juno, Prodigy Internet, and many ISPs. It is developed to interfere with America Online's annoying habit of disconnecting you periodically, which gets in the way of common tasks such as typing mail and downloading files. Well documented and very easy to use, freeON runs from your system tray, silently but diligently detecting and preventing AOL's attempts to disconnect you. freeON also filters AOL advertisements and has an answering machine to answer your Instant Messages. Logging support and ample documentation are included. FreeON Features: Disconnection Prevention: FreeON prevents disconnections from most ISPs (Internet Service Providers). It does this by simulating network activity to make you appear active and by detecting and closing disconnection warnings displayed by your ISP. Automatic Updates: FreeON is a general purpose anti-timer that uses data called service profiles to control how it recognizes ISPs and prevents their disconnection timers. FreeON is capable of storing any number of service profiles and these service profiles are extremely flexible, such that FreeON can prevent disconnections from just about any ISP. Ad Filtering:FreeON+ for AOL will automatically filter most AOL start-up advertisements. Answering machine for Instant Messages: FreeON+ for AOL can be configured to automatically answer your AOL instant messages for you. This feature is very useful during long downloads when you leave your computer. Someone who sends you an instant message receives an immediate response. You can review your messages that were answered by the answering machine at any time.
