esrXP Description

esrXP, which is short for Embed Subtitle Ripper XP, is designed specifically for extracting subtitles embedded in video files. The tool does not require installation and it is ready to be used as soon as the executable file is deployed.Straightforward interfaceThe interface is simple, with the options being aligned in the upper part, reserving the most part of the screen for the video file. Extracting the text burned into a movie is done by using OCR (optical character recognition) technology since the data is not available as a separate track in the video container. Filtering out the subtitlesWhat this means is that the program converts the image into text by attempting to recognize the characters in the subtitle fields. The process is not down automatically and the user needs to prepare the grounds and apply some filters for the best results. The adjustments consist in defining the color of the subtitles so that esrXP can single out the characters and translate the image into text. In some cases this may consist in providing both the color of the characters as well as the outlining border. Ripping the textOnce the text is highlighted the program can start reading and interpreting the characters and converting them to text. Processing the video may be a bit resource intensive, especially on lower-specced computers, so some impact on performance is to be expected. ConclusionesrXP has an interesting approach to extracting the subtitles from a video container that does not have them as a separate track. It can be used successfully on older video files since most of the newer ones wrap the movie and the subtitles individually in the same container or separately.
