dcRAW-X Description

dcRAW-X is a robust Batch converter which helps Mac OS X users to post-process digital pictures that were shoot in "raw" format. This program is based on Dave Coffin's Linux command line tool dcraw.c. Post Processing Here are some tips for you to integrate dcRAW-X into your existing workflow: PSD format output files are "linear", which means when opening the files in Photoshop, your First Impression would most likely to be "too dark". However this is exactly how the linear files should be. You will need to make some adjustments to the images to make them "look right". A quick and dirty way to adjust the brightness level , is to set the output brightness value in dc RAW to be 5.0 or higher. Expect to spend some time on finding out the ideal value for your own camera model. However the right way to do it, is to assign a custom camera color profile to the linear file. If you don't have the Equipment to create a color profile for your camera, there are web sites on the net that provide camera color profiles for various makes and models(sometimes for a fee).
