alternet Description

alternet was developed as a handy and Open Source library that can act as a substitute for the default Processing library. It utilizes the Java NIO package to gracefully deal with sockets while fully support asynchronous networking. One of the main focuses of the library is to make it as easy to use as possible for people that are not used to deal with networks. This is done by providing a very simple API and hiding as much of the socket functionality as possible. For example, unlike the normal Processing library, it is not necessary to call flush() after every write to make certain that the data is being sent.
