Cricket is a sport with a long history and millions of fans around the world who want to permanently stay informed about the latest news related to the game, players, matches and scores. Yahoo! Cricket is a handy Firefox extension that offers you instant access to the latest news on cricket-related topics. Once installed in Mozilla Firefox, this extension adds a new button to the browser toolbar, providing one-click access to information regarding your favorite sport. Created by Yahoo!, the extension relies on the information published on the Yahoo! Cricket website, comprising the latest headlines within a small, popup window. The panel it opens is divided into multiple sections, in the attempt to organize the retrieved data. The latest updates are available under the 'Recent' tab, where you can review the results of the most recent matches, while the most recent news on players, transfers, press releases, declarations are displayed in the 'News' pane. Currently running matches can be viewed under the designated tab, while upcoming events can also be monitored. Users can configure the Yahoo! Cricket extension to follow a certain match and retrieve information about it. Furthermore, you can use the addon to keep an eye on your favorite team and watch its evolution in the international championships. In this case, the addon alerts you either by animating the extension icon or by displaying a pop-up window. On the downside, we experienced some compatibility issues when installing this extension. On newer versions of Firefox (we tried it on 21.0) the button it displays does nothing when it is pressed, while on older versions (Firefox 17.0), everything works just fine. The Yahoo! Cricket extension can keep you up to date with the latest news on cricket, allowing you to get an overview on the recent matches, standings, as well as videos, press briefings and interviews.
