Wimpy FTP Description

EditBy The standard version includes the ability for users to create and manage FTP accounts. To use Wimpy FTP Standard: - Double click on the Wimpy FTP.exe icon to start up Wimpy FTP - Click the "New Account" button and enter the following information: Account Title A Brief name to describe the account you are setting up Host The FTP host URL to log into. This is usually something Similar to "ftp.yoursite.com" -- or sometimes, just the domain name such as "yoursite.com" or "www.yoursite.com." If your not sure about this, check with your hosting provider or server administrator to get the proper FTP Host. User Name The username for your FTP account. This should have been provided to you by your server admin, or company that is hosting your site. If your not sure what your FTP account name is, check with your server admin. Password The password associated with your User Name. This should have been provided to you by your server admin, or company that is hosting your site. If your not sure what your password is, check with your server admin. Start Up Folder This would be the folder that you would like Wimpy FTP to load up when Wimpy FTP first starts up. Most folks like to set this to the folder that contains the "public" files. For example, "public_html" or "www." You can leave this blank and Wimpy FTP will start up in your account "root."
