Virtual Newscaster Description

For your desktop or non-commercial website. The Microsoft Agent will read the current national and world news, weather, market quotes and sports highlights. You'll only need to cut and paste a small bit of code to your web page. Otherwise, no programming will be required. Since this is a client-side script, it will work on any web page hosted by any provider or on a web page stored on your local computer. We dynamically generate the contents from our own website so you do not have to be concerned about the technical support of the script. Modify the Code - The following modifications can be done statically and then posted to your website or (if you want to get really clever) created dynamically via server side scripts on your web site. ZipCode: You can exchange "28310" in the first line with any valid U.S. zip code. Agent: You should NOT exchange "Merlin" with another specific Microsoft Agent character name because the script will fail if the character is not loaded on the users system. The character "Merlin" is preloaded on all Microsoft Windows platforms. Animation: This value can be "Yes" or "No". Turns off animation completely to allow for compatibility with Agent characters that do not support the full animation list found in the original characters from Microsoft. AutoStart: This value can be "Yes" or "No". If set to "Yes", the character will begin reading the latest news when loaded. If set to "No", the character will introduce itself and then wait for your command. MyName: This can be any URLEncoded string that you'd like the character to call you.
