VideoCalc Description

VideoCalc is a straightforward tool that lets you find out the bit rate of your video files. It can be seamlessly handled, even by novices. This type of application can be of assistance if you are used to joining video files, for example, since some piece of software require all items to have the same bit rate. This is a portable app, so installing VideoCalc is not necessary. It means that you can store the tool on USB flash drive or any other storage device, save it to any computer and directly run its executable file. What's more important is the fact that the Windows Registry does not receive new updates and no leftover files can be found on the hard drive after program removal. Plus, you can carry VideoCalc with you whenever you're on the move. The interface of the application is based on a standard window and an intuitive layout. VideoCalc supports DVD videos, SVCDs and DivX items, as well as two languages for the UI - English and Portugese. So, you can get the movie length of a video by using the file browser; VideoCalc automatically calculates and displays its bit rate. But you may also adjust the movie length, specify the disc size, select the desired bit rate for the audio stream, as well as input space size for extra files. VideoCalc is able to save the current settings on exit, in order to use them for further projects. The simple-to-use program runs on a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, is pretty responsive to commands and didn't freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs in our tests; we haven't come across any problems. All in all, VideoCalc can prove to be a reliable tool for video processing. No recent updates have been made. Reviewed by Elena Opris, last updated on February 1st, 2013
