TigerCad Description

TigerCad is a CAD-drawing software application able to export drawings to DXF, PDF, TGC and image formats, such as JPEG. It includes extension help documentation for all user levels. The interface’s layout is not that different from the ones of other similar products, like AutoCAD. You can create a new project by selecting an object of approximate size to what you have planned, and measurement unit. An example drawing is also available. As far as drawing tools are concerned, you can insert arcs, circles, tangents and ellipses, lines between points, and a series of connected lines. It is possible to set the color, dash pattern and thickness for lines and arcs, scale, mirror or rotate the cursor graphics, as well as add text and set the height and color. Furthermore, you may turn on a grid, measure distances or objects, customize line styles, text properties, fill settings, arrow, bullet and text sizes, as well as shorten or extend a line or arc, merge lines to form an intersection, and more. TigerCad uses low CPU and RAM, has a good response time and performs smoothly. No error notifications were shown in our tests, and the program did not hang or crash. Although it may not be as complex as AutoCAD, TigerCad is free to use and packs some user-friendly features for rapidly creating drawings. Unfortunately, it has not been updated for a while.
