Textweb Description

Textweb is an easy to use program that will write, read and edit networks of cells stored in .twb files. Each cell in a network has a name and a text field. The name is an identifier which begins with a letter, followed by a sequence of zero or more letters, digits, or underscores. The name is unique within the network of cells in the .twb file. The text field may be used for any purpose desired. There are 3 panes in Textweb's screen: the cell list, the text pane, and the output pane. Panes may be resized by dragging their separators. The cell list shows all of the cells in the web. The output pane receives output from a reporting feature. Anytime a cellname appears in the text pane, it may be double clicked to bring up the cell referred to. Double clicking any word in the text pane that is not a cellname will cause Textweb to create a new cell with that word as cellname. Textweb has a reporting feature, that will output to a chosen output stream, information about the contents of some or all cells' name and text fields. Output streams, and other Textweb features, are selected via a Settings dialog reached through the Edit menu. Main features: Take linked notes in classes and meetings. Generate reports from the contents of the notes. Report on the structure, as well as the contents, of your records. Create storyboards of complex scenarios and try different paths through them. Make maps of the interactions between your friends, and use the reporting features to learn more about their relationships. Enter structural information for computer programs, and use cross-reference reports to help reverse engineer the programs. Model the underlying structure of user interfaces, and use the models to try out different design ideas. Make nested outlines of talks or speeches to be given, and use the outlines like a teleprompter during the talk.
