TIM FREEware is perhaps the most versatile and useful program you will ever use. It can be adapted for any requirement where textual information needs to be managed. TIM is a universal application that can be used for anything that uses information. TIM can be used as an Expert System or a Knowledge Base. I used it for keeping track of my programming code, tips etc. At my last employer, I used TIM to keep track of my management documents, logging meetings, minutes etc. Researchers in any field will be able to manage all their research material whatever it is. Authors could use it to plan and write their book. You could keep a record of diet information with recipes. You could keep a membership file for a club. In fact there as so many uses for TIM that I could write a book listing what TIM could be used for - but it would never be finished because the possibilites for TIM are endless.
