SwisSQL Data Migration is a desktop program with a wizard-like interface for easy database migration between several data sources. These sources can be either major database engines (SQL Server, MySQL, DB2, Oracle, Postgre) or even file-based data (Excel and Access files). This is a Java-based application, which means you can run it on virtually any platform. Use of JDBC ensures maximum compatibility between any database vendors, as well as secure and reliable transactions with rollback support. Most of the time you don't need to worry about the technical details of connections and vendors: the JDBC drivers and default program settings take care of almost everything, which is great for both database gurus and for the operation staff with less database knowledge. The only "problem" for the average user is the high license price: you have to pay a license fee to unlock all the program features, plus an annual support fee. If you don't want to pay anything, you can try the program for 30 days, with a lot of limitations including the number of objects to import, and maximum rows of data per table. In sum, SwisSQL seems to be a good product, fast and reliable, with support for the most popular data sources.
