Split Files Description

As its title suggests, Split Files is a tool that allows you to split files into smaller pieces, but also to put them back together. If you're running this software on Windows 7, make sure to open it with administrative privileges. Otherwise, some annoying errors will keep popping up. The interface of Split Files consists of a plain and simple window in which you can specify the input file via the file browser only, because the "drag and drop" method is not supported. So, you can set the output destination and splitting method (by amount or size), write the input file size (in Kb), amount or size of parts, and initiate the splitting process. In addition, you can enable Split Files to delete the source file after splitting, create a batch file (so you can join parts without the need of the program), add a "Delete Part Files" command to the BAT file and to compress each path (in the ZIP format). The joining process is easy. All you have to do is set the path to the first part of the file and make sure the remaining pieces are placed in the same location. Split Files runs on a very low amount of system resources, supports several languages for the interface, integrates into the Explorer context menu and quickly finishes a splitting or joining task. No errors have occurred during our tests. Putting aside the simplistic interface, Split Files offers a straightforward solution when it comes to splitting and joining files, and we strongly recommend it to all users.
