Solid To Mesh for AutoCAD is an AutoCAD plug-in which provides the possibility of converting a 3D solid to a mesh. AutoCAD does not have a command to convert a 3d solid into a polyface mesh. This kind of functionality is essential when an AutoCAD user needs to transfer his 3d solid models to an external program which can read mesh objects only, such as a rendering application. Solid To Mesh for AutoCAD removed this AutoCAD limitation by giving it the ability to convert a 3D solid into a polyface mesh. This mesh can later be saves to an AutoCAD DWG or DXF file and imported into another application. Solid To Mesh for AutoCAD is designed to be extremely user friendly and easy to understand. To convert a solid into a mesh. Simply run the "SMConvertSolid" command and select the solid you wish to convert. Solid To Mesh for AutoCAD adds new commands to AutoCAD. All the commands start with "SM" (stands for Solid To Mesh) to distinguish them from other AutoCAD commands and commands added by other plug-ins. These commands are housed in a new menu called "Solid To Mesh" which is added to the AutoCAD menu.
