Sneaksy Description

Both home and work computers can be accessed by multiple individuals, either through a shared or personal accounts. It's best to keep your important files and folders secured to prevent unauthorized access or keep them away from prying eyes. A simple method, requiring little effort on your behalf is Sneaksy which hides folders so no one knows where to look.Hide folders with password protectionAs an overview, the application is pretty lightweight and mostly requires you to remember the password you use if you ever want to retrieve your files again. No setup is required and can be used multiple times, once per directory, without affecting other instances. No interface and stealthy processThe method used is a little different from what you'd expect and if you don't have an eye for detail you might end up running the application a dozen times, believing it doesn't work. The name is well-deserved, with no interface of its own, but rather hiding a folder through a silent management of Windows commands. Once the app runs, an incredibly small text field appears at the top of your screen, without any hints or descriptions. It's the place where your password goes. Once set up, a “Files” folder becomes visible and is where documents and other important items are stored for extra security. Create multiple directories with different pathsHitting a small button next to the field completely hides the previously mentioned folder, with no traces left other than the executable file, which is cleverly fitted with a fully transparent icon. Needless to say that you need to run the app each time you need to add or edit files. As mentioned above, you need to remember the password, because there isn't any way to retrieve it or your files. Luckily, if the executable is removed, you can still access the folder by copying back the executable file. What's more, you can use the application in multiple directories of your choice, each one running on a different password. To sum it upTaking everything into consideration, we can say that Sneaksy might not be the best way to secure important files and folders, but it's easy enough to use and difficult to detect, making it practical overall. You might need to keep an eye out for the password box and remember it, with functionality sometimes being a little flawed, but it still deserves a try for personal documents and files on a shared computer.
