Sense Professional Edition Description

The Sense Professional Edition editor inherits all of the robust cross-referencing and hyperlinking qualities of the Sense Personal Edition with the additions of an application interface (API) and source-code support to enable integration into business systems. The editor currently provides closely tied support for plain text webpage editing and RSS feed authoring when running in conjunction with the freeware Sense To Webpage and Sense To RSS tools More specialised traceability implementations involving document to document and source code cross-referencing are feasible. These uses, potential and realized, are possible because Sense has a novel approach to document structure where the parts such as paragraphs(lines), bullets and sections(chapters) are uniquely identified. This allows cross-references to be established that are inherently robust and underpins a preview feature which displays link targets as document fragments. Documents can be created from new or be imported in plain and rich text file (rtf) formats: source code files may be imported in their usual plain text format. Source code handling is based on file-type with pre-defined profiles for "C", "C++", "C#", "Java" and "JavaScript" defining rules for syntax highlighting and auto-indentation: profiles are fully customizable and file-type extendable. Export of source code to native plain text file-types is straightforward and once modified may be re-imported with a special algorithm re-establishing those important cross-reference links as far as possible.
