SBNews: News Robot is a newsgroup download manager for Windows. This application provides a neat and comprehensive user interface from where we can configure the connection to our news server, select the location where we want to save the files, view the whole list of newsgroups available from our server, and subscribe to as many newsgroups as we like. All these tasks can be easily done by anyone (aided by helpful wizards). After we have subscribed to one or several newsgroups, we can start downloading all their contents (posts, video, images, data, archives, audio, etc), or just the post headers. We can fully manage the newsgroups and posts, and view the previous and current image at a time. Optionally, we can choose to open the internal JPEG image viewer, navigate through our folder tree, and view all the images in a selected folder, which can even be located on an external device. It is possible to check for duplicate files, search using keywords, change the user interface appearance, encrypt automatically, set up timeout and delay, choose fonts, etc. There are two help files (one of them for novice users) and several useful tips, such as how to avoid spam, FAQ, etc. We can try the fully featured evaluation version of this program free of charge for as long as we need it.
