Pros: RapidSMTP is an high-performance e-mail marketing software that helps create and send personalized marketing e-mails. One of the biggest problems with mail campaigns, whether e-mail or snail mail is to determine the effectiveness of such mailings. Whether a message has actually been opened or has been forwarded or a link in the mail has been clicked can tell the campaign managers a lot. This application provides the means to track such details with respect to the messages sent to specific recipients. One could determine the geographical location of a prospect with quite an accuracy so that messages sent could be customized to specific towns/cities etc. There are several other ways that messages could be targeted and customized to a very personal level by utilizing a host of database items. The RapidSMTP can connect to a set of databases for this purpose. These include Access, Excel, Outlook, dBase, SQL Server, Informix and Oracle. Import export of data could be through HTML and unformatted text also. Other crucial aspects of such e-mailings is not to be identified as spam. Currently regulations exist that govern such mailings through the CAN-SPAM set of regulations. This is met through facilities in the application that handle subscribing, unsubscribing and bounced message handling. Cons: The user is ultimately responsible for spam complaints.
