Python Bulk Mailer Description

Python Bulk Mailer or PBM for short is a Command Line, Python written tool for sending emails. It has been written to offer flexible mailing options and should find uses with those who have to send legitimate bulk mail. It does not use any databases and runs off simple text & CSV files. Whilst this is not the fastest way to perform, it offers simplicity for newcomers to bulk mailing. The program is linear, that is each email address is tried and processed in turn - there is no forking of additional processes. It is also possible to run multiple instances of the program with under differnet names and email lists. The program allows you to send text and HTML emails with or without attachments. These can be delivered direct to MX, via a specific smart host / relay or by using a list of hosts and accounts (such as AOL/GMAIL etc). It allows tracking and individual mail customisation via the concept of 'placeholders'. Additionally it is supplied with a simple PHP web handler that tracks opening / link following and provides a mechanism to record unsubsription requests and spam complaints. The program logs to plain text .CSV files for analysing your results.
