Portable Application Launcher is a handy tool for the users who enjoy using portable applications on their computer. The program allows you to easily access the list of installed tools and launch them from the main window. Portable apps are very popular among the users who want to use the same program configuration on every computer. They can easily be installed on a USB pen drive that can be carried around in your pocket. However, these apps do not create shortcuts in the Start Menu or the on the desktop which makes them harder to access, especially when you have more than a few. As the name suggests, this program allows you to create shortcuts and launch each executable from a single window. It features a simple interface that allows you to launch apps from different locations and open the documents stored on the removable device. The tabbed interface enables you to create folders or groups in order to easily organize multiple items. When you run the program for the first time, you need to create a shortcut list by scanning the removable device. This allows you to quickly build the shortcut list without having to browse for each executable. You can add the frequently used items to a favorites list which pins the icon above the other shortcuts. An interesting features is the ability to filter the 64-bit apps in order to avoid compatibility issues. The Extras tab provides you with additional tools such as a countdown timer, drive space indicators, calendar or news pages. Unfortunately, the app has not been updated in a while and some of the tools are not working properly. If you do not have a source for downloading portable applications, you can browse a large collection by using the included browser. The app management center allows you to easily backup and restore the installed programs.
