Peformance Gradebook Description

Performance Gradebook has the features you need for recording and calculating student grades, with an intuitive spreadsheet-like grid. Enter student grades and watch the program instantly calculate averages. Rank students on any assignment by double clicking the assignment's header column in the grid. Tell the program whether you'd prefer it calculate grades by dividing the total points students have earned by the total points possible, or by using category weights (e.g., quizzes count for 25% of an average, essays for 15%, etc.). One of the unique features of Performance Gradebook is that you can assess students using your own rubrics or performance standards. You can share rubric-based feedback forms with colleagues who are also using the program. If you grade using performance assessments, these features will save you lots of time. You decide the standards and performance levels you'd like to give students as feedback (e.g., "excellent, good, fair, poor," "5,4,3,2,1," etc.). You can also optionally write additional comments for each paper you grade. The final grade you assign a student when providing rubric-based feedback is automatically entered into the student's gradebook entry. You can print or e-mail individual feedback, as well as create a PDF or text file with all the feedback you created for an individual assignment. Comment snippets provide a simple way to standardize written feedback you give students. When you write a comment you will be writing over and over again, like feedback about a common error many students make, you can save the comment with a single keystroke. Later, when you'd like to reuse the comment, another keystroke will bring up a list of all your saved comments, and double clicking the desired comment will insert it into your current text. Comment snippets provide a way for you to quickly give students a lot of semi-customized feedback. Slide the cursor over the tab labeled "Attendance," and keep a complete record of when students are absent or late to class. Set the program to alert you when students have missed more than a certain amount of class. Performance Gradebook makes it easy to share your general grading templates, rubric-based feedback forms, and comments. Colleagues can set up classes using the same grading schemes, the same rubrics, and even the same comments--and you'll be able to set up your classes next year or next semester faster, too. When you've finished a rubric-based assessment, you can save your work as a printable PDF file to share with students or parents, or you can e-mail the results. You also have the option of saving all the reports you've created for an assignment--handy if you'd like to review your work at a time or place when you do not have Performance Gradebook available.
