Edit By PassagePlus is a passage planning and navigation application aimed at the Leisure sailing market. To the best of our knowledge it is the only Mac OS X application compatible with the UK Hydrographic Office's ARCS charts, Land Information New Zealand's NZMariner charts and the Australian Hydrographic Service's Seafarer RNC charts. PassagePlus targets the leisure boating market—sail or power—and is intended for the day/weekend coastal sailor. Our goal was to give it an uncluttered interface usable on a small laptop like a MacBook and to restrict the feature set to those things that might be used frequently by this kind of user. Features: Making use of UKHO ARCS charts, LINZ NZMariner charts and/or AHS Seafarer RNC charts, PassagePlus helps you plan a passage and navigate. Its main features can be conveniently grouped into five categories: Chart Selection and Opening PassagePlus provides five ways of choosing the chart you wish to open: 1.‣If you know the chart number you can simply key it in. 2.‣You can choose from the list of recently-opened charts. 3.‣You can click a thumbnail image of a chart in the Related Charts panel. 4.‣You can use the Chart Browser to browse your entire chart collection, quickly previewing charts at low resolution without having to open them at full resolution in the main window. 5.‣Any chart can also be opened from the Chart MANAGER window. Passage Planning Passage planning is best done at home or on board your boat at mooring (not while already at sea!). Having opened a suitable chart, you can: 1.‣Create a planned route, simply by clicking points on the chart. You can create as many routes as you like. 2.‣Create waypoints, either by clicking on the chart or keying in positions provided in, for example, a pilot book.
