New Folder Wizard is a tiny and portable application that you can use to create a wide range of folders in no time, based on user-defined filters. It comes in handy when you're organizing data into multiple directories, for example, since it may save you a lot of time. As installation is not a prerequisite, you can simply drop the executable file anywhere on the hard disk and click it to run. There's also the possibility of moving New Folder Wizard to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any computer with minimum effort. An important aspect to take into account is that New Folder Wizard does not add entries to the Windows registry, Start menu or any other area of the computer. The interface of the app is made from a single window with a well-defined layout, where you can establish a target directory and set up properties for the new folders. Therefore, you can edit a folder name prefix and suffix, as well as input the starting and ending number and step. It is also possible to use a text file for the folder names, along with the prefix, suffix, comment characters and “tab” label for subdirectories. The new folders can be previewed in a small dialog in the primary panel, so New Folder Wizard lets you correct any mistakes you've made. This list can be copied to the Clipboard for further analysis. The actual creation of the new directories is done by clicking a button and confirming the action. New Folder Wizard is pretty light on the system resources, using a low-to-moderate quantity of CPU and RAM. It has a good response time and carries out a task rapidly and effortlessly. No error dialogs have been shown in our testing, and the app did not hang or crash. Thanks to its intuitive layout and configurable settings, New Folder Wizard should please the entire audience.
