Net Profiles Description

If you're using multiple networks with the same laptop and you're simply tired of inputting IP addresses every single time, Net Profiles could really come in handy. The application has been designed to allow you to preconfigure each network and jump from one profile to another with a single click. But it does even more than that. The idea behind the product is pretty simple: you can create your very own profiles for each network, which means you write down IP addresses and other configuration settings, just like you do when you connect to a specific network. After that, save the profile and keep Net Profiles running. Once you plug in the cable, open the app, enable the appropriate profile and you're ready to go. No need to manually input the configuration again. Setting up the profiles is easy as breeze. Net Profiles comes with a tabbed interface that lets you specify the information for each network, but besides IP settings, it also comes with more interesting goodies. For example, you can also configure the mapped drives, Internet access, printers, desktop and wireless access. What's more, the desktop can be configured not only with a custom wallpaper, but also with a different screen resolution and color quality. While Net Profiles works okay on all Windows versions, keep in mind that you need administrator privileges to launch it on Windows 7, as it makes modifications to network configurations. All in all, Net Profiles is clearly a handy product, especially for those who access multiple networks with the same computer. It offers intuitive configuration options and a freeware license to make sure it doesn't hurt your pocket. Reviewed by Bogdan Popa, last updated on August 26th, 2013
