Name Picker Description

Name Picker is a software application, developed in Java, specifically so that you can randomly pick names from a given list, and specify the number of times a name can be called out. This tool does not require installation, as it is portable. This means you can copy the program files to any location on the HDD and double-click the executable to run it. It is also possible to use it on any computer you have access to, by simply dropping the last mentioned files to a portable storage unit, such as a USB flash drive. Aside from that, another important aspect is that the Windows registry is not going to be affected by Name Picker in any way, and there will be no leftover items upon its removal. The interface is clear-cut and therefore, enables all types of people to find their way around it, without experiencing problems. It contains a few buttons, a panel in which to display the user-input list of names and another one where you can view the randomly chosen item. Names can be manually added, pasted or uploaded from the hard drive, and it is possible to also input the maximum picks per name. Once all these configurations are set, you can press the “Pick” button and call out the name that is displayed on the screen. The Help contents are very limited, and seeing how easy it is to use this utility, it becomes apparent they are not actually needed. In conclusion, Name Picker is a pretty decent piece of software, dedicated to teachers or university professors. It is simple, has an intuitive interface, a good response time and it does not put a strain on your computer’s performance, as it uses minimal CPU and RAM.
