Media SOS (formerly XPlay) Description

Media SOS makes for an excellent PC companion that enables easy transfers between your iOS / Android devices and your computer. It even throws iTunes support into the game, being able to export content directly to Apple’s media player. In an attempt to simplify the efforts of the users that own an iOS or an Android device, Media SOS provides a pleasant and user-friendly environment that makes transferring between such a gadget and your computer a breeze. In this respect, it relies on a wizard-based interface that guides you through all the steps that are necessary to accomplish the job successfully. It automatically detects the devices connected to the computer, offering direct access to the media files located inside it. Once the content is identified, the media is categorized into songs, photos and videos, providing separate buttons for copying each one of these. Regardless of what you choose, the next dialog sports two options: transferring all of the items or manually selecting the ones to be processed. The last of the configuration steps involves specifying the destination, which can be one of the following three: the iTunes library, the Music folder or a user-defined directory. After completing all of these steps, you can press the ‘Copy’ button to initiate the transferring operation. It’s of high importance to mention that during the process, duplicate items will be automatically skipped and hidden or lost items will be uncovered and copied altogether. Also, you won’t be bothered by annoying prompts, the software makes all the right decisions, no intervention required. On an ending note, Media SOS seems like a very reliable alternative for managing content stored on Apple or Android devices. The wizard-based interface makes it all the more accessible and easy to use. Reviewed by Andreea Matei, last updated on July 5th, 2013
