Madz DVD to iPod/PSP Video Converter is an application with a pretty self-explanatory title - it allows you to encode DVDs to the MP4 format, supported by iPod and PSP devices. The interface of the program is clean and intuitive. You can select the root of the DVD drive or ISO file (from disc or hard drive) by using the file browser only, because the "drag and drop" method is not supported. So, all you have to do is specify the output directory, filename and MP4 compatibility (for iPod or PSP), and proceed with the conversion task. In addition, you can configure audio and video settings regarding the quality, sample frequency rate, resolution and cropping mode (optionally allow deinterlacing). But you can also select individual DVD chapters for processing, preview the DVD titles during conversion and select the audio language. The DVD conversion program takes up a pretty high amount of system resources, has a fair response time, contains a comprehensive help file (too bad it doesn't have snapshots) and quickly finishes an encoding job without freezing, crashing or popping up errors. We haven't come across any issues during our tests. The image and sound quality is preserved at a very good level. On the other hand, you can only select multiple chapters if they are in a consecutive order (for example, you cannot select only the first and fourth chapter), Other than that, we strongly recommend Madz DVD to iPod/PSP Video Converter to all users, regardless of their experience level.
