Krut Computer Recorder Description

Krut Computer Recorder is a lightweight Windows utility specialized in recording your screen activity for creating video tutorials or presentations. This is a portable program, so it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry. You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you to need to record your desktop activity on the fly, without having to go through installation steps. Since this is a Java-based utility, you should make sure you have previously installed the working environment on the computer, otherwise you cannot run the tool. Krut Computer Recorder gives you the possibility to record the selected part of your screen, enable or disable the audio streams, show or hide the mouse, and preview the clips. By default, the recorded video streams are saved to MOV file format, while the audio ones are exported to WAV. The tool is also able to take screenshots, which are automatically saved to JPG file format, and enables you to activate the built-in timer and schedule the recording operations. When it comes to configuration settings, you are allowed to overwrite the original files and select the area that you want to capture using the mouse or manually specifying the screen position. What’s more, the video parameters can be tweaked in terms of FPS and encoding quality, while the audio ones can be adjusted by selecting the sample frequency and channels. During our testing we have noticed that the Krut Computer Recorder carries out a task quickly, provides good video quality, and no errors showed up throughout the entire process. However, just like any similar Java tool, it eats up CPU and memory, so the overall system performance may be burdened. As a conclusion, Krut Computer Recorder offers a handy set of parameters for helping you record your screen activity and take screenshots.
