KeyMapper Description

Diversity is one of the aspects that not only defines us, but also serves as a means of expressing our differences, beliefs, emotions and more. Culture is one example, where writing and speaking developed in various different methods and use specific characters. Translated into computer input, like buttons on your keyboard, it can get difficult to use special characters, with KeyMapper hoping to offer a helping hand.Lightweight and easy to useThe application comes in an incredibly lightweight package, with no installation process being required. As such, you can create new layouts which you can quickly implement and use on any computer by keeping the application and corresponding registries on a removable storage device. A basic keyboard is displayed as soon as the application is launched, and this represents your workspace. This comes in handy because you can edit literally any button on your keyboard and attribute it a completely new value. Good but far from being a proThis is actually the main purpose of the application, giving you the possibility to create multiple layouts by choosing a function you want for each of your keyboard's buttons. On the other hand, you won't be able to create macros or combine multiple buttons for a single command, which is slightly disappointing. What's more, it's recommended that you create a backup of the default layout so you don't end up with messed up buttons. This is because you don't need to set all buttons, leaving you free to use only as many as you need. However, you are strictly limited to what you find on your current layout, although there's a drop-down menu that lets you choose from all installed layouts. To sum it upTaking everything into consideration, we can say that KeyMapper is a handy application in case your keyboard slightly malfunctions or you simply want buttons to do something else. Complete freedom is provided when it comes to picking and mapping characters, but the invisible barriers that limit you to a layout's available characters leaves a lot more to be desired.
