Insert Sequence Numbers Description

This EmEditor plugin inserts sequence numbers at the beginning or end of each line in the selected area. If no text is selected, Insert Sequence Numbers inserts sequence number on and between the line where the cursor is currently located (or the beginning of the document) and the end of the document. The properties you can configure from the Plug-Ins Settings are the following: - Specifies the beginning number to use in the sequence. - Specifies the last number to use in the sequence. - Specifies the amount to increment each sequence. - Specifies the beginning number to use in the sequence. When a text is selected, the plug-in will finish processing at the end of a selected line. - The plug-in usually stops when it reaches the end of a text selection, even if the end value specified has not been reached. If you check Continue Processing through End Value, sequence numbers are inserted with automatic returns through the end value is reached, even if the text selection ends before the end value. - Right aligns numbers in the selection. - Uses 0 (zero) to right aligns numbers in the selection. - If this is checked, the string specified or will be inserted before or after the sequence number. - Inserts the specified string before the sequence number. For example, if the sequence number is g5h and the string is gtesth, gtest5h will be inserted at the cursor. - Inserts the specified string after the sequence number. For example, if the sequence number is g5h and the string is gtesth, g5testh will be inserted at the cursor. - If this setting is enabled, the following escape sequences will be used (their effect is different than using the same escape sequences used by EmEditor). \t ... tab \xhhhh ... Unicode characters with hexadecimal notation \\ ... \ - Saves changes and closes the dialog. - Closes dialog without saving changes. The following is an explanation of the Insert Sequence Numbers dialog box: - Inserts the sequence number at the beginning of the line. - Inserts the sequence number at the end of the line. - Saves the modified settings, but does not close the dialog box. - If this is checked and no text is selected, the plug-in will process from the beginning of the document. If this is unchecked, the plug-in will only insert one sequence number to the beginning of the line in which the cursor is located.
