Index Server Companion Description

The Index Server Companion is a tool created to extend the functionality of Microsoft's Index Server so that it is able to index and search content from remote websites hosted on any web server (including Unix/Linux/Apache), and also from ODBC databases. As such it can be used as a low cost alternative to Microsoft's Site Server 3.0 Search or the search facilities of SharePoint Portal Server. . The Index Server Companion contains full documentation in HTML Help Format and sample source code for ASP (VBScript) and ASP.NET (both VB.NET and C#).
