HttpWatch Description

HttpWatch is a great program that allows you to view or log the events of HTTP protocol interaction between a client and a website. Why would anyone need to know this? For web developers and profound users this information is valuable - by viewing the HTTP interactions, a developer can troubleshoot or improve a website. HttpWatch is one of the best programs out there for this. The application installs a plug-in in both Internet Explorer and Firefox for ease of use. Then you can launch the HttpWatch window, which will allow you to record all the events of the browser and the webpage, including headers, cookies, URLs, methods, parameters, codes, errors, and warnings. It also provides a nice logging utility which allows you to view values graphically and to save each log in a separate file. Along with the download comes an application called HttpWatch Studio, a stand-alone application to open the log files recorded in the browser. This Basic version is fully functional only when you visit a number of well-known sites and shows extended HTTP info.
