Editor's review: This software tool lets you create a horizontal news ticker. In the game of holding attention of visitors, a news ticker always helps. This tool helps create a flash animation based horizontal news ticker. These keep sliding in from right to left. When moused over the text & the picture light up. The ticker tool provides you with something like 60 odd options to customize the display. The news reader is composed of 2 distinct panels. The first panel would display in auto-loop the news with date, title and a small thumb while second panel would display full title, date, photo and description. The description is html editable, it supports bold, italic, underline, color and URL. When on this second panel, the headlines still pass through the bottom part of the display in a stock quote ticker fashion. These items in the ticker are clickable too. Selection of an item is highlighted brightly. Selecting the item takes you to the required item. The news panel is customizable. Of the 60 customization options, height/width of widget is settable via the XML file. Other customizations include auto-loop speed, news panel customization, colors, content changes, thumb width and height, scroll speed, animation time, etc. The settings can be done through flashvars too. You could easily get elements dragged and dropped into the project. The overall effect is quite good, if a little flashy.
