For Engineers designing beam components in machinery, consumer products, structures Handi-Beams 4.0 saves time and simplifies selection of the beam's cross-section (shape). Replacing home-grown spreadsheets, the included AISC Shapes Database (a $90 value) contains data for almost 2000 standard steel shapes, from which Handi-Beams 4.0 selects those that meet your criteria: allowable stress, allowable deflection, shape orientation, or shape 'type'. Additional features: displayed values for stress and deflection (maximums, and at any position along the beam), one-click sorting to minimize beam weight or height, and calculations for structural timber and other materials.
