HD View is a simple and handy plug-in for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, which allows you to view and manipulate high-definition images. It supports even huge images of billions of pixels, including panoramic ones that cover very wide fields of view. Besides letting you open and view the HD images in your web browser, HD View will also add buttons that allow you to pan and zoom the displayed images, or change the viewing perspective. Panning and zooming will be performed smoothly, without the well-known pauses and other issues typical to viewing very large photos. Used in combination with Microsoft Image Composite Editor (ICE), HD View also helps with the creation new HD content. Just use ICE for the image stitching part and the HD View plug-in for the outputting-related tasks, like previewing the resulting picture. HD View is also neat, easy to install, and best of all, complete free. It makes viewing large HD images a simple and smooth experience not only thanks to the enhanced zooming and panning capabilities, but also because it downloads only the image data needed for the current display.
