Gmail Touch+ is a Metro mail client for Gmail users who are running a Windows 8 computer and prefer to access their mailbox without using a web browser. Providing the modern-looking interface that these types of applications go for, Gmail Touch+ offers you full access to your Gmail account, using a full-screen view. You can practically perform all the tasks that are available in the Gmail account, such as reading and composing messages, deleting unnecessary or spam ones, managing folders, moving and archiving mails, adding labels and so on. Practically, the only thing that changes is the look and if the new appearance doesn’t please you, Gmail Touch+ comes with an option to load the standard interface of Gmail, just as it is displayed in any web browser. This might make more conservative users feel more comfortable when checking their mail. One of the advantages that Gmail Touch+ brings you is the new tile it installs on the Start Screen, notifying you about newly received messages and even displaying a ‘preview’ of their content. Composing a message is just as simple as it would be in Gmail and accessing the address book is done with just a click. Also, the search function is designed to help you quickly find the desired message in a cluttered mailbox. The application includes an option to sign in using another Gmail account, but during our tests, this feature did not work properly and we were not able to switch between multiple mailboxes. Gmail Touch+ is intended for those who like the new stylish look that Windows 8 brings, enabling anyone to access their mailbox using a full-screen, modern-looking interface. Going beyond the shell, its functionality is not so impressive, since the Gmail account can be easily accessed using either a full-featured mail client or any web browser.
