Gmail Notes Sidebar Description

Gmail Notes Sidebar is a Firefox addon designed to enable you to attach a private note to each conversation in your Gmail account. With Gmail Notes, you can create notes to, for example, summarize key points in a long conversation thread, record notes from a follow-up or related phone call, or to describe the contents of a binary attachment (fax, pdf, etc). Gmail Notes is not an integrated feature of Gmail, but a separate web application running on the Google Application Engine Framework. So your notes are stored separately from your Gmail data, although they are still in the Google infrastructure. And because your notes are stored in the Google cloud, you can view/edit/create them from different machines. Gmail Notes is a service open to all Gmail users. You sign in to the service using your Google Account address and password, which are directly handled by Google's authentication servers.
