Generic Countdown Timer Description

Developed for Yahoo! Widget Engine, Generic Countdown Timer is a widget with a name that pretty much describes its functionality - it can be scheduled to count down to a specific time. The interface of the tool is based on a small window. By accessing the right-click menu, you can set the timer hour, minute and second. Alternatively, you can make the app countdown to a specific time. Furthermore, you can restart the countdown by using the default time and reset the skin colors. From the 'Widget Preferences' area you can select the double-click action (set the time, start/stop the timer, start/stop the timer by using the default time). In addition, you can change the default time format and time values, make the tool automatically start the timer or to restart it once it reaches zero, as well as hide the seconds if the time is greater than one minute. Other features of Generic Countdown Timer let you customize properties for the font (style, size, color and shadow color), alarm (e.g. sound file from the computer, audio volume, use visual alarm), skin (scale, colors, background opacity) and window (level, ignore mouse, prevent dragging, opacity). The lightweight app puts little strain on the computer's resources, as it uses a low amount of CPU and system memory. It has a good response time and didn't cause the operating system to freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs. The bottom line is that Generic Countdown Timer is a straightforward app for scheduling a countdown timer directly from your desktop.
