Free Audio Reader is an application that is designed to be an all-around audio book player that also features bookmarks, playlists, cover art, tag editing, slideshow playback and text to speech capabilities. All of the mentioned functions are packed and displayed in an user-friendly interface that makes it easy for you to access all its features. Free Audio Reader enables you to load and play MP3, WMA, WAV and MIDI audio files. It displays information such as author, album, track number, title, year, genre and the attached comment. With the audio files loaded, you can create playlists and shuffle them while playing. In case some information is missing or incorrect, you can use the applications’ tag editor to correct all of that. With its ‘Cover Art’ feature you are able to view images from your hard drive. Initially they are all displayed in a small thumbnail view but you can easily resize the preview window to get a better look. Also, you can load photos and images from your computer and view them as a slideshow. The application enables you to rename the photos as they are being viewed and synchronize them to audio or other media files. Probably its best feature, ‘TextReade’ enables you to load a text file from your computer and have the application read it aloud. You only need to load a single file and the application can recognize the rest that are found in the same folder. This way you can easily move to another document when you need to. Free Audio Reader allows you to choose the voice of the reader and adjust his or hers volume and reading rate. In case you want to read along, font and color changing is possible. In closing, Free Audio Reader is a nice tool to have around if you want to listen to audio books and have text from documents read aloud to you.
