video prev next This is a software tool created to convert your video, audio, or movie files in some of the most popular formats into other formats specially designed to be played on cell phones and other mobile devices. Besides, with this program you can also extract the audio of your source video files or movies. This program is totally free, but comes with a toolbar called "Free Online Radio Player Recorder Toolbar" that you can choose whether to add or not when installing the main program. However, even though I chose not to, it installed in my browser anyway. As the program's name implies, it behaves like a wizard, since it performs the video conversion or audio extraction tasks in two basic steps. It offers you an elegant and practical user interface which opens directly on the "first step", where you can add one or more source video or audio files you want to convert. You are also allowed to delete any of the previously added files (or all of them at once), and change their particular order by moving each element upwards or downwards. This interface also presents a "Play" button, which allows you to open the currently selected video and play it back using Windows Media Player or whatever default media player you have in your system, as this program does not include any player of its own. It also provides a logging function, which stores information about the program's events, actions, and/or errors. The "Log" button allows you to see that information, and clear it or save it to a file. The "Back" and "Next" buttons allow you to move to the next or previous step, respectively. The "second step" of the program lets you select an output directory for your resulting files, and a video or audio (for audio extraction) file type. Depending on your decision, you will need to choose a specific output format, among AVI, MP4, and 3GP for the video option, and between WAV and MP3 for the audio option. Whatever format you choose, you will be presented with a wide variety of presets. For example, for the AVI option, you can select among HD video, MPEG4 (DivX/XviD), BlackBerry, Archos, Creative Zen Vision, and many more, depending on the mobile device you will play it back on.
