Fping Description

Testing your Internet connection or your IP address response can be made by using the Windows 'Ping' tool. Nevertheless, there are other alternatives that offer extra features. One of these is Fping, a lightweight program that allows you to ping multiple hosts from a list, in order to test data traffic speed. The program can only be run with the command line console, so if you are not familiar with it, it may take some time to learn how it works. When running the program, it displays an example of the command syntax and the available options to use. You simply have to type the given command and input your own data. Fping allows you to verify multiple domain names or IP addresses with a single command. You can even set it to read the host list from a file. Having all standard ping features, this utility also offers you some features that are not available using the standard ping utility. For example, you can adjust the time between two pings and the timeout to wait for each response, as well as the number of pings to send to each host. Furthermore, there is another distinct command for setting the amount of data sent in packets, the record route or the number of hops. The program also enables you to ping an IP range, as well as show domain names when using IP addresses.
